Across the two biggest evenings in the entertainment industry, 403 alumni worked on recognized titles – a display of the limitless potential that comes with passion and hands-on industry training.

WHAT WENT DOWN AT THE 2026 OSCARS

The 2026 Oscars celebrated a mix of major milestones and first-time winners. Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another emerged the night’s champion with six wins, including Best Picture and Best Director. After a record-breaking 16 nominations, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners won four Oscars, including Michael B. Jordan for Best Actor and Autumn Durald Arkapaw for cinematography – the first woman to win in this category. Other highlights included Jessie Buckley’s Best Actress win for Hamnet, Amy Madigan’s Best Supporting Actress win for Weapons, and a rare tie for Best Live Action Short Film. Hosted by Conan O’Brien, the Oscars capped off an awards season that, as always, showcased both industry legends and a new generation of talent.

At the 2026 Oscars, 173 alumni worked on nominated films – 112 of this number on winning films. Here’s where É«ÀÇÎÑ alumni made contributions:

• Film Production alum Chris Vermeulen worked in visual effects on One Battle After Another which won 6 Oscars, including Best Picture.
• 10 alumni worked on 4-time winner Sinners, across É«ÀÇÎÑ’s 3D Animation & Visual Effects, Classical Animation, and Foundation Visual Art & Design programs.
• 24 alumni were credited on Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, which won for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song. These alumni were from various É«ÀÇÎÑ programs including Film Production, 3D Animation & Visual Effects, and Game Design.
• Makeup Design for Film & Television alum Brandi Boulet worked as a prosthetics artist on triple-winner Frankenstein.
• Other nominated/winning films where É«ÀÇÎÑ alumni were credited are Avatar: Fire and Ash (47), Jurassic World: Rebirth (34), F1 (8), and Zootopia 2 (6).

A LOOK BACK AT THE 2026 GOLDEN GLOBES

At the Golden Globes this past January, 230 alumni worked on nominated films & series (38 on winning projects). Here’s where É«ÀÇÎÑ alumni made an impact:

• Film Production alum Isaac Miranda Rosas worked in motion graphics on BOTH The Studio and KPop Demon Hunters – each of which picked up multiple awards.
• Three alumni – from É«ÀÇÎÑ’s Film, 3D Animation, and Animation Concept Art programs – worked on Marty Supreme, which won Best Actor – Musical/Comedy.
• É«ÀÇÎÑ Sound Design for Visual Media alum Scott Smith worked on Hacks, which won Best Actress – TV Musical/Comedy.
• Other nominated/winning projects where alumni were credited are Andor (33), Wednesday (12), Black Mirror (8), Elio (8), and Hamnet (1).
