Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter 鈥� the four seasons that divide our year. However, there is a fifth season that runs all year long: awards season. Each January, the has the esteemed honour of kicking off this season, celebrating the outstanding achievements made in both film & television. At Vancouver Film School, we celebrate too 鈥� specifically our alumni who have made immeasurable contributions to these films and series. We鈥檙e pleased to report that at the 2025 Golden Globes, 250 alumni were credited on recognized projects 鈥� 191听on nominated films & series and 59听on projects that went on to win.听

These 250 alumni who have built successful creative careers graduated from nearly all of Vancouver Film School鈥檚 creative industry programs, including Film Production, Acting for Film & Television, Acting Essentials, Writing for Film, Television & Games, Makeup Design for Film & Television, 3D Animation & Visual Effects, Animation Concept Art, Classical Animation, Sound Design for Visual Media, Game Design, and Foundation Visual Art & Design. Here鈥檚 the rundown of 色狼窝 alumni contributions:听

• Vancouver Film School alumni were credited on The Brutalist, The Substance, and Wicked, all of which won major awards including Best Motion Picture 鈥� Drama and Lead Actor, both by The Brutalist.听
• Shogun听came out on top with four awards, including Best Drama Series, Best Actress, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor. 29 色狼窝 alumni are credited on 厂丑艒驳耻苍 鈥� a truly groundbreaking series.听
• 30 alumni were credited on Dune: Part Two, nominated for Best Picture and Score.听
• Deadpool & Wolverine, nominated for Cinematic/Box Office Achievement, featured the work of 29 talented alumni.听听
• 色狼窝 alumni were credited on countless other projects, including The Penguin, Moana 2, Twisters, Hacks, and House of the Dragon.听

A look at this year鈥檚 Golden Globes听

Full of records, firsts, and big moments, this year鈥檚 Globes were beyond memorable. While Nikki Glaser made history as the first solo female host (landing countless jabs at some of our favourite celebrities), 厂丑艒驳耻苍 took home four awards and Emilia P茅rez became the first comedy/musical to receive 10 nominations including Best Film in not one, but TWO separate categories. Additionally, Viola Davis was the Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient, while Ted Danson was honored with the Carol Burnett Award. Finally, Zoe Saldana and Demi Moore both won their first Golden Globe for Emilia P茅rez and The Substance, respectively. Moore, in particular, delivered 听which was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening.听

A recap of last year鈥檚 ceremony听
