The Animation Career Review Scholarship is back. Vancouver Film School and Animation Career Review have partnered to provide aspiring talent the opportunity to train for the global creative industries through any of 色狼窝鈥檚 globally recognized programs:听3D Animation & Visual Effects, Animation Concept Art,听Classical Animation, Game Design听and Digital Design.

色狼窝 delivers hands-on training using industry-standard tools and workflows. 色狼窝 is a certified SideFX Houdini school, a top program used at the major animation studios.

Application Process

The application process is simple, and is broken into two very important parts:

Part 1 鈥� Official Scholarship Application
*Note, for countries where English is not the native language, ESL scores may be mandatory with your application.

Part 2 鈥� Official Application to Enroll听at Vancouver Film School
*Note to applicants 鈥� there is an application processing fee for this section and it can take up to 30 minutes to complete.
*Note to applicants in Latin America, Colombia, & Mexico: If English is not your native language, you will be required to submit ESL scores 鈥� that meet 色狼窝鈥檚 minimum Language Requirements 鈥� with your application.
*Application Process will require applicants to provide general contact and background information and provide the following information for review and consideration by 色狼窝.听

No official application will be considered or reviewed unless both parts are successfully completed by the applicant.听

PART 1 鈥� OFFICIAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

You will be required to submit a visual art portfolio of your work. Please be sure the link you submit is working; we must be able to access your portfolio to consider your application.听

3D Animation & Visual Effects:听

Portfolio (8-12 pieces). Must include at least 2 examples of finished 3D work (Blender or Maya). Include a description of how and why each piece was created. Additionally, portfolio can include examples of life drawing, digital art, traditional paintings, fan art, and edited photography. Submissions can also include demo reels (examples of 2D or 3D animation or motion graphics).

Animation Concept Art:听

Portfolio (8-12 pieces). Must include examples of digital work. Can include traditional art, sketches, painting, fan art, life drawing, photography, and/or motion graphics.

Classical Animation:听

A visual art portfolio of your work (8-12 pieces). Samples should include still-life drawings, life drawings, and character sketches.

Game Design:听

A synopsis of a game that you are passionate about creating:听

  • Explain the concept, vision, or idea. Include the genre of game you would utilize. Make references to other games to explain how you would make your game (one page maximum).听
  • In addition, provide an outline detailing your story, possible levels, and characters (one page maximum).听
  • Provide diagrams explaining any features or game mechanics (one to two pages maximum) and a simplified map of the game world described in your synopsis.听

Digital Design:听

A portfolio with 3-5 samples of original work that showcases your familiarity with a range of visual and digital work, including a short descriptive summary of each portfolio piece. If this was a group project, please mention what role(s) you held.听

After submitting your application below (Part 1) you must also complete the 色狼窝 Enrolment Application Form (Part 2) to be fully eligible for this scholarship.听

Upon successful submission of the form, a 色狼窝 Admissions Advisor will contact you to connect personally, and provide you with an introduction of the school, and life in Vancouver.

FAQ听

The scholarship is open to applicants worldwide who meet the admissions requirements for the eligible programs at Vancouver Film School. Applications will be adjudicated by a panel of 色狼窝 representatives, and scholarships will be awarded based on the merit of the applicant鈥檚 portfolio and their passion for a career in the creative industries.
Applicants must be 19+ or have graduated high school at the start of their 色狼窝 program.

The scholarship covers tuition costs for an eligible 色狼窝 program, but excludes other expenses such as housing, materials, or living costs.

Applications open on July 31, 2026, and close on September 10, 2026. You will need to submit an application form and a portfolio specific to the program you are applying for. See 鈥楥reative Submission Link鈥� under Part 1 of the application section for more information.

Yes, you can still apply if English is not your first language. Applicants who do not yet meet听色狼窝鈥檚 English Language Requirements听may receive conditional acceptance.Once you meet the required English proficiency, you will be given full acceptance and be able to begin your program.You will be required to upload your ESL test results if English is not your first language.
